CONFLUENCE OF FISHERIES IN NODAR

the ways of the fish and the toll of the “Brazilian”

This walk of about 2:30, is entirely focused on the river Paiva, with all the charm of one of the most beautiful rivers in the region.

Will there be a path that will, almost in its entirety, follow the river Paiva. Accompanying us on this path we will have the presence of a resident of Nodar who will speak on the relationship of people with the river and particularly with fish, especially trout and bogas. Of men and women who climbed the mountain with panniers on their heads to sell sardines (village by the river Douro) and mule drivers who used this bridge to pass the goods, will also the story of Nodar, the bridge built in 1889, the toll that existed until two generations ago and the shrines which then arose.

Lunch is served at the village’s restaurant (Flor do Rio Paiva), near the bridge over the river Paiva, a place that is becoming famous for the food linked to river fish, bogas, trout, barbel, eels, etc.
