In this walk we will meet the natural and cultural assets of the region, being the protagonist the crowning glory of their gastronomic heritage, the famous Veal of Lafões.
Going through the old part of the village of Vilarinho we can observe a number of floors, panniers, the home of one of the heads of the miners who once drew the tungsten from the bowels of the mountains of Minas Chãs and the Chapel of Santa Maria and S. José, who was built in the year 1886. We will go through an old water mill that still grinds flour to make bread to the traditional village. We will cross the small tributary of the Teixeira River and cross the Bridge and go up to the top of “Serdoeira”, where we can get an overview of the village.
Along the way we will watch the cows in their natural environment, grazing on the hills where they are taken every day, returning at the end of the day to the village.
Lunch, which will include the Veal of Lafões, will take place at Vilarinho’s Hunters House.
